Message: Being fast, friendly, and not pushy has been my experience. I had a slow leak in my AC I didn’t initially have the money to fix. Because of this, I had them recharge the AC twice before I could get it repaired. After finally getting the repair done, a mechanic brought over the old part when I picked up the vehicle and took the time to show me the issue. I believe I have found a mechanic I can trust.

Message: Highly recommend this shop! Excellent service and honest hard working guys that know what they are doing. I had a noisy wheel bearing that needed to be replaced which I could normally do on my own however it was heavily rusted and wouldn't come off. Dave got me in right away in the morning and got it replaced by lunch time. Hard to find good mechanics in Maui that you can trust to get things done in line with their labor quotes. I will be returning here for all my future service needs. Thanks again Dave and Ken!

They did exactly what I asked and did it in a responsible amount of time (in and out the same day). They got me a quote on my repairs and were not pushy at all.. Message: I have trusted all my automotive repair work to Dave Schelfe at Uptown Automotive for more than 30 years. I have probably had 6 different vehicles during that time, from my business van to my wife's personal car. He is always clear in what needs to be done, how much it will cost, and if it can wait or not. I think this shop is the best on Maui. He has even helped my friend with an antique car solve problems that no one else in town was able to figure out. He is the best.

Message: Aloha!, I met the owner Dave, asked if they can check out my 05 Jeep Liberty Limited 4x4 2. 8L 4cyl Turbo Diesel with just over 74k miles. I just purchased this vehicle and it stopped running. Ken (mechanic) was able to diagnose the problem (fuel Injection pump). I also requested to r/r the water pump, timing belt, serpentine belt, pulleys, thermostat and housing, seals, hoses, etc. Very happy with the awesome service that got me back on the road! Ken gave me an estimate, ordered parts, replaced all parts and got the KJ running smooth, starts right up, motor feels tight, seems quieter, he made sure to replace any worn parts. Awesome repair work!

Message: I've owned a number of vehicles over the past years, and Uptown Automotive is the only place I will let work on them. I have complete faith in their ability to repair any problem I have, regardless of difficulty. They are honest, trustworthy, and provide excellent service I have a 1987 El Camino that I am very particular about. Dave, being a classic car owner himself, is the only mechanic I trust to work on it. Uptown Automotive gets 5 stars from me!

I would be remiss not to mention Cindy - she's helpful and is a lovely added benefit to the whole experience! I have several good mechanics here in Kihei, but will always take my cars to Dave.
